DPI Photography Center, which owns and operates DPI XL Studios, opened for business in May 2004 as a photographer's one-stop shop for professional and business services. And since then, DPI – as it has come to be known – has helped change the face of the local photography industry.
While it offers a wide gamut of products and services, DPI is, first and foremost, a Kodak Professional digital lab.
DPI’s large format photo printing service has been recognized as one of the best in the country. This is largely due to its practice of color management, the only professional digital lab to do so. Color management helps assure that the printed colors, brightness, and contrast are accurate relative to the client’s intentions. To learn more about color management, click here.
To help draw in clients into its shop, DPI also offers other services such as film scanning, studio rental, computer rental, and photography classes. Of these, our studio rental became particularly popular with the market. Ours were the first studios of a professional caliber to be made commercially available to both professional and amateur photographers. As such, it helped level the playing field in the industry, as photographers of all levels of experience had access to spacious professional studios. They no longer needed to build their own.
Demand for the studios grew over the years, as did the clamor for more studios in Makati City, where most of the advertising agencies are located. Thus, in March 2007, construction of DPI XL Studios began. It finally opened for business five months later in September.
DPI Photography Center and DPI XL Studios are owned and managed by the partnership of long-time friends Atty. Jackie Cruz, photographer Louie Aguinaldo, Querry Kho, and Nolo Rosales.
